John,

On the SB stuff you use simpledeploy.  A utility from sB, but it has a 
flaw... you must be connected to the AB unit via the wire side... does 
not work on the wireless side.  They state they did this for security 
issues, but I ca not see why CPE would have a security issue with this 
feature(AP's yes.. CPE, uhm..what is a customer or foe going to do burn 
in the wrong channel?  Doubt it..)

172 MHz is a harmonic of the 2.4 spectrum..  but a Yagi is pretty 
directional, so I don't think it would screw you too badly...  Doubt that 
is your issue.

Not sure what the default is on sb stuff on preamble.   will have to look 
at one...

I still think what you are dealing with is either a hosed tranmitter (or 
amplifier) or pure interference...    preamble would not cause the issue 
you are dealing with (on both WET-11's and SB gear)..
