Finding and unpacking the original bootstrap for the image you are
using may fix the problem, you can find them here:

  http://pkgsrc.joyent.com/packages/SmartOS/bootstrap/

But at this point if it's just a test image then it's probably best to
just provision a new image, as then you are guaranteed to avoid any
possible side-effects.
