Unless I am mistaken, you do not need KVM for running CentOS.As I understand
it, lx-branded zones have landed into SmartOS,which means one can run Joyent
provided CentOS image atnear bare metal speeds.
https://docs.joyent.com/public-cloud/containers/infrastructure/images/centos
With KVM, you will pay a performance penalty equal to emulatingan entire
system; while possible, unless you have a very specificreason for doing so,
running Linux inside of an lx-branded zone shouldbe a better alternative.
Needless to say, unless there is specific software that only runs onGNU/Linux,
why not just run the SmartOS native version of theapplication?
