That's a pretty old platform at this point. I would be inclined to upgrade to a current platform and see if the problem persists. We run some larger nodes in our public cloud environment (128-256GB) and had experienced a variety of issues at least passingly similar to the ones you describe (e.g. OS-4949), which is why we did the work to address those issues. The system is supposed to work correctly without the tuning you're talking about here. If it doesn't, we need to get any remaining bugs diagnosed and fixed. Cheers. -- Joshua M.
