Hello Keith

Sorry if my post was a little brief. I did edit GRUB before using the serial 
console just to test that the boot CD was in fact booting properly. Which it 
did via serial. It's just that on the two or three Intel boards that I have 
available, unless I have an add on video adapter, I can't get any further than 
John Meyer's predicament. I can reproduce this behaviour if you are interested 
in the details. I have a working system now and am very happy with my SmartOS 
setup.
