Wow, yea that sounds more like it.   Couple questions:

1. Did you do a write big enough to make sure you weren't just writing RAM?

2. What's you zpool config and what kind of hardware you running? That is, what kind of vdevs do you have?


Those aren't my numbers, but if you look at the windows numbers I posted on "slow virtio" thread, you will see I got better than an order of magnitude improvement adding log devices.
