However, I'm not attempting to participate in the active directory with this zone beyond the zone being a member of the domain. This member zone simply offers up a single file share using the NT-DOM security protocols. I'm using winbindd to pull the UID/GIDs from the PDC and using the PDC as the password server for this share. I've found that there is a tendency by many to try an over configure Samba. If you could describe what you are trying to do with Samba, I may be able to give you some specific recommendations. Here's the base64 image I'm using. I set if up about a year ago.
