Rob,

the Gen8 Microservers have two builtin bge ports (that work fine with SmartOS - 
at least in our setups) plus an additional NIC on the BMC (specifically for 
iLO. I read that one of the bge’s can be shared with iLO but haven’t done that 
at all as I fully agree with your reasoning below.
