Hi Rickie,

I’m backing SmartOS systems to a NFS NAS (containing big files used as ZFS vdev 
).
The plus point is that I can mount the backup pool on another server in seconds 
and boot the zones.
On  other old Solaris  systems, I do cross replication of pools on big nearline 
SAS drives (on our main server cross replication  is done to high capacity  
read optimized SAS SSD ).
We keep backups for 2-3 months depending on pool capacity.
