I have a Supermicro board with integrated IPMI support. Unfortunately, it's become inaccessible from the web interface and I need to reset the configuration. As understand things, this requires running a utility from the machine itself and it's only available in DOS, Windows, and Linux flavors. I've already attempted to upgrade the firmware while discarding the configuration, but some settings seem to persist anyway.
My questions are: 1) Is it possible to run a Linux utility via LX emulation in the global zone? 2) Can I grant access to the BMC hardware from within an LX zone? (This supposes the necessary drivers are operational.)
