I was referring to IPMICFG available here:
http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/SMS_IPMI.cfm. Unless I
misunderstand, the 'ipmitool mc reset' command will reboot and not clear
the actual configuration.

Either way, I found this nugget hidden in Supermicro's site which
provides an obscure raw command that can be used with ipmitool to reset
config to factory defaults:
