Dear List,
every now and then vmadm operations fail with
zoneevent watcher exited prematurely with code: 1
leaving the caller in limbo about about the state of the vm. Our
workaround
is to restart vmadmd with
svcadm restart vmadmd
which terminates not only vmadmd but also all the processes of
/usr/vm/sbin/zoneevent. Despite the error message it seems that in all
cases
the vmadm operation has been completed successfully, but we do not want
to
rely on that experience. Especially when vmadm create fails it requires
a
considerable amount of manual cleanup.
Is there any way to ensure that these zoneevent watchers will not exit
prema-
turely other than to restart vmadmd beforehand?
