Except for the fact that we don't ship such a thing today. The VNC server that is included in the JDS consolidation and thus Solaris Express (and maybe some other distributions) is VINO and VINO runs as a child of the users gnome-session not from inetd. Having that advertised via mDNS might be interesting though. > mdns support > in inetd users can advertise inetd services they find most useful. Okay lest look at the services in a default Solaris Express install that are under inetd control and see if any of them are useful with mDNS. The only ones I can see that might be interesting are the following: ftp, print/rfc1179, telnet, *login*, *shell*, cde-calendar-manager. I can't see any other inetd service that is actually that interesting to actively advertise. Now given that telnet, rlogin, rsh are all undersireable to use and one should instead use ssh those can get dropped too. sshd doesn't get started from inetd. That doesn't to me leave us with a particularly interesting list. -- Darren J Moffat
