thanks all. seems it was charged, glory. i'm struggling to get the  
sim tray out though. i'll have to go out and buy a paperclip unless i  
am barking up the wrong tree. it does seem odd they have no device to  
open it up, it's also bloody inconspicuous to anyone whose not seen  
it done before. still it's a beautiful piece of kit.
