For some time my MB has been exhibiting problems playing video. After a few minutes, it stutters, then the sound breaks up, then it recovers, but once it's started I have to restart to get anything reliable and avoid a kernel panic.
I have been thinking for some time it's a USB problem and have ordered a new MB as I'm tired of it. But I just noticed that it coincides with a loss of the airport connection. I have an Apple 'n' base station (the MB is also 'n') - which I bought specificalyl so I could watch EyeTV files on the iMac in one room on the MB in another room. The Console shows message slike this when it stutters 21/10/2008 20:08:26 kernel IOAudioStream[0x4652a00]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (6,3673)->(9,32b7). 21/10/2008 20:08:26 kernel IOAudioStream[0x4652a00]::clipIfNecessary() - adjusting clipped position to (8,3673) 21/10/2008 20:08:29 kernel IOAudioStream[0x4652a00]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (b,24b7)->(c,384f). 21/10/2008 20:08:29 kernel IOAudioStream[0x4652a00]::clipIfNecessary() - adjusting clipped position to (c,24b7) and googling IOAudioStream showed it's not just me. but the Console also shows this 21/10/2008 20:01:42 kernel AirPort: Link Down on en1 21/10/2008 20:01:47 kernel AirPort: Link Up on en1 21/10/2008 20:08:02 kernel AirPort: Link Down on en1 21/10/2008 20:08:06 kernel AirPort: Link Up on en1 21/10/2008 20:08:09 mDNSResponder[16] Note: Frequent transitions for interface en1 (192.168.0.7); network traffic reduction measures in effect I have started wondering if this kind of intermittent network stream is typical of either Macbooks or the Base stations. The only control I have is that my girlfriend's newer MB doesn't do this but she does'nt work her machine as hard as I do. I wondered if anyone had any bright ideas. Can I reseat the Airport card on my dual core black 2.0 ghz Macbook (about two years old) or is it inaccessible? If I can sort this out, I don't really need the new machine...which is due to ship about November 5th...! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
