I have 6 LaCie drives (ranging from 120GB to 500GB) and all have worked
perfectly (hope I haven't spoken too soon!!!!!). Luck of the draw, I guess?

LaCie strikes again. I've had nothing but bad experiences with LaCie  
external drives Virginia. Every one I've owned has died - usually just  
out of warrantee. I suspect yours has gone the same way as mine.
