Hi all,

For the first time since using OS X (since the Beta!) I saw a new
thing today. I had been playing a CD and afterwards went to reduce the
volume by pressing the keyboard volume controls as I've done many
times before. What I got though was the translucent volume control
overlay with a kind of ΓΈ (No Entry) symbol underneath it and no matter
what I did the volume would not budge. I ejected the CD and it still
wouldn't budge. About 10 minutes later I tried again and it worked as
usual.

Reading some threads on the Apple discussion forums it implies that it
may be a problem with the logic board but that seems a bit unlikely to
me (a symbol designed to highlight issues with the logic board!?)

Does anybody know what may have been the cause?

Cheers,

Stephen
The Chinese authorities have repeatedly refused to act on climate
change, saying that the economy must take priority. They also argue
that it is pointless for the West to criticise China for its energy
consumption when so much of China's industry produces goods for
Western markets. - BBC News 7th November 2007
