no-one's going to abuse anyone (not while I'm moderator.) But
your email was itself, shall we say, a little hasty. If you ask
specific questions people will no doubt be helpful but my
experience of lists and Macs over 20 years is that any email
containing the phrase '...didn't work' is 99% likely to be
lacking in enough detail to be answerable. There's not really
any such thing as 'didn't work': there's 'crashed on launch',
'appeared to do nothing', did something unexpected' etc.

So do please ask specific questions ('what software will do this
specific task, like display all files at a certain size?'). I
can't actually turn any of your points into answerable questions
though I'm sure it's possible. Eg Time Machine wil restore a
backed up system in certain circumstances but we need to know
what you need to do. Is it a new mac? or the one that was backed
up? what did you try that didn't work *after reading the manual*?:-)

There is a culture shock moving from one to the other. patience
and specific questions are going to lessen that - or stick to XP
and delete Leopard (not a bad idea leaving a working OS there
for troubleshooting though - nothing can corrupt it if you're
runnig Windows. If your Windows set-up dies/gets compromised,
you might be able to use Leopard to access vital files).

Most software requires getting used to...you just forgot the
getting used to Windows you did years ago.
