Hmmm. And I thought it was fixed. I updated the Netgear firmware and the iMac that had been causing problems connected immediately. I thought, "great, sorted". However, while I was updating the firmware (using my laptop at it happens) I disconnected the other iMac (turned Airport off). A little while later I re-connected the second iMac and guess what - the first iMac got kicked off the network and defaulted to a self assigned IP address (a dialogue box appeared saying something about an IP address already in use). Seems the Netgear is suddenly unhappy about having two iMacs connected at the same time.
