Hi

Please note that not for one minute do I condone using software that
you haven't paid for, I will comment that the pirate distribution of
iWork '09 and iLife '09 is possibly unprecedented.

The reason for this is that there is no serial number for the retail
editions of iWork '09 or iLife '09.

I have a theory...

I think Apple feel that getting iWork '09, in particular, in as wide a
use as possible is more important than trying to "police" pirate
distribution. Whilst they don't want to simply make iWork '09 free,
they don't seem to worried about people using copies.

It is true that Clarisworks and Appleworks had no serial number keys
either, but the online distribution using bit torrent technology was
not available at that time.

I get all my Apple software and hardware through the University of
Sussex where I am studying at the moment, so I am lucky to have access
to low prices :)
