As I understand it, you have to purchase 
AppleCare within the first 12 months of the 
product's life.

I'm about to be receive a replacement MacBook 
from John Lewis for the one they lost when 
they were supposed to be repairing it. 
Although this is a brand new machine (or it 
had better be) it actually counts as a 
replacement for the old one which was 
originally purchased in Jan 2008.

Can I get AppleCare for this replacement - 
and does the team think it's a good idea?
