Hmmm! iTunes became the largest music download store in the world on the back
of MP3 ( AAC was not supported in iTunes until V4 in 2004 ) so if that's the
case then most people are quite happy to spend money on and listen to rubbish -
including me. Yes ACC is technically better and it makes little sense not to
use it if the devices in question support it.

I have a HiFi at home where the cartridge in my turntable costs more than most
people would pay for their entire music system, but that doesn't mean that I
think MP3 is rubbish. AIFF is rubbish if you want to listen on an iPod as you'd
have no room left for more than a few albums - it's about the user's personal
requirements, both sonically and practically I'd wager.

And of course there are many HiFi folk who think that CD/AIFF is rubbish and
that Vinyl is The Only One True Way(tm). :-) I had an issue of HiFi News and
Record Review where Ivor Tiefenbrun, the founder of Linn Products, memorably
said that "The only emotion one experiences when listening to Beethoven on a CD
is irritation".
