I appreciate this, Sam. The clarification is useful. I've used these inline bits of help quite often with the new devices, such as the new mouse.
However, I think the problem is more than ignorance. It's how I use my hands, where I rest my thumb and such like. I'd really like to be able to turn icon resizing off, and only turn it on when I need it! It seems to me very strange that it's always there waiting to happen....
