It's not something to do with it guessing your location from your IP
address? Don't suppose your ISP is based in York?

 Hi Phil

Look on your Mac's Address Book, go to the My Card menu entry, that'll take
you to your card. Check your home address on that card an if necessary move
house from York to Brighton.

Plug the iPod in and sync, it should update the address book.

 Regards

 Sam

 Hi Tony
Yes - I understand all about the Time settings. "Maps" still sets my home
location as York and this then feeds into other apps. I can't seem to get to
the root of Maps to reset the location. I can by-pass it and set my true
home as the start of a journey, but it's just a bit of a niggle, and I
wondered if someone could advise how to fix it simply.

Can anyone help me solve this niggling problem? My ipod touch believes I
live in York. I can't find out how to set it to Sussex, or indeed,
understand how it got set to York in the first place!

 Use the Settings app

    Date and Time
These settings apply to the time shown in the status bar at the top of the
screen, and in world clocks and calendars.
Set whether iPod touch shows 24-hour time or 12-hour time: Choose General >
Date & Time, then turn 24-Hour Time on or off. (24-Hour Time may not be
available in all countries or regions.)
Set the date and time: Choose General > Date & Time. Tap Time Zone and enter
the name of a major city in your time zone. Tap the “Date & Time” button,
then tap “Set Date & Time” and enter the date and time.

Apple does have a Support site for just your type of question. Try it. It's
quite good.
