If os9 doesn't support usb2 then it would make no difference which card you put 
in. I think your best course of action/path of least resistance would be to 
swap the KVM switch with another one. 

The other least elegant way, which I have ended up doing is to run USB 
extension cables to your desk where the KVM box is, and manually plug the 
keyboard+mouse into whichever computer your using. So the KVM is only switching 
video, and you switch the controls over yourself. 

I've always found kvms a bit clunky and usually had to do some variation of 
manual switching either with the controls or the video. The most reliable ones 
I have ever used were adderview brand ones, but I don't think they do one which 
is USB and dvi.
