you wouldn't have the same SMS system. If someone texted you on the skype number, it reads it out to you on voicemail. You wouldn't have the mobile in non 3-G areas (lots of details like that). So if you dpend on it, it's a bad move. If you don't mind being out of touch a bit (ie you ring people rather than they ring you),it's a possibility, but you'd use a lot of the mifi data (battery runing out etc.) It did cross my mind but I threw it out as a suggestion pretty quick

It's not threadwhackign because it's a natural extension of the same topic by the way. Fussy people would ask you to amend the subject (which I've done, but only for illustrative purposes, not for dictatorial ones)
