Thanks Sam. I've checked the software and am fully up to date. The pointer has
pretty well frozen completely now; I'm back on the old computer. I think I'll
have to get onto Apple.

Hi Derek

Run Apple Menu > Software Update. There was a firmware update for the MacBook
air to address video issues but it might improve the trackpad.

Thanks to SMUG I have successfully transferred data to the new MBA, which is
working fine - except for the trackpad, which functions erratically. At times
the pointer freezes and won't work at all, then it suddenly comes to life
again. I've tried adjusting the settings in System Preferences, but this had
made no difference.

Has anyone had similar problems or got any suggestions? Thanks.

Derek
