Yes, I am used to the old trackpad too and I wondered if this was just a matter
of getting used to the new one, but I think this is a problem with the pad
itself.
Thanks.

I have had this problem with my 17" unibody, and have found no cure. I find it
tiresome: and I find the new trackpad difficult also because of my habit of
leaving my thumb on the click bar of the old trackpad (as one does with the
space bar in a typewriter) which means, when it's at the bottom of the new
click bar free trackpad, I'm enacting all sorts of gestures when I don't mean
to.

One of these was changing the size of the icons on my desktop. I finally cured
this by turning off the zoom gesture. It's a shame that you cna't turn gestures
on and off for different applications, areas of work etc.

Thanks to SMUG I have successfully transferred data to the new MBA, which is
working fine - except for the trackpad, which functions erratically. At times
the pointer freezes and won't work at all, then it suddenly comes to life
again. I've tried adjusting the settings in System Preferences, but this had
made no difference.

Has anyone had similar problems or got any suggestions? Thanks.
