It's really really basic. I don't think Bean will every come out of its beta state. I say "hats off to Apple" they really got this right with the superb Pages word processor. It is beautifully simple to operate. It opens and saves Microsoft Word documents with great ease and accuracy. I recommend Pages to anyone as a Word Processor.
