I've installed Perian and now in the Finder window if I click on the .flv file
it will play in the preview column but if I drag the 'flv to QT I'm told 'this
is not a movie file' which also happens if I go to the action menu and click
Open With>Perian - Open in QT Player.

?

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks Toby, I'll give that a whirl.

first install the plugin from perian.org, then try dragging and dropping the
.flv file onto quicktime player and hopefully it will then play in quicktime
player.

friendly video format like .mov if necessary
