If money's no object then maybe an Air. But you know what, if he's not bothered about getting a computer, then why bother? get an iPad. I have seen this from time to time: person woh doesn't really need/want a computer gets drawn in (or their kids tell them to get one), they go along, suddenly it's all complicated, they get those weird newbie errors (my son destroyed their Mac mini OS by quitting an iTunes installer and I had to get them reinstall the OS over SMS. He did what only a newbie would do...)

But an iPad will be straightforward. If he loses it or doesn't upgrade, so what? is he really worse off than if he lost his camera?

Anyone remember the Hi-fi shop sketch from Not the Nine o'clock News?;)
