I had been given the crucial website - but now I realise that I had misread
the maximum amount as 128MB not 1280MB!  So I was not at all sure that I
could rely on it.

As far as software is concerned, I most often use non-current software which
is contemporaneous with this elderly computer.  One example is Peak 4.14LE.
