Hi Sam I think there must be something I'm not doing right. I have deleted the POP account on the iPad and installed a default yahoo IMAP account. The laptop still has a POP account. Incoming emails arrive on the iPad a minute or two ahead of the laptop. If I delete them from the iPad in time, they don't appear on the laptop, but if not, they show on both machines and need to be deleted individually. What do you suggest?

POP = everything downloaded to your computer with the possibility of leaving the emails on the server for another device to pick up IMAP = everything hosted on the server with the ability for all devices to sync changes ie deletions and moves.
