I've just got a new iPhone. I plug it into my iMac running 10.4 and apparently I need to upgrade iTunes and therefore my operating system to 10.6 in order to use it! I read somewhere that even though it"s not advertised you can use the Snow Leopard upgrade disk (at £26) rather than the box set (at £122) to do the job. So I bought the disk and every time I try to install it the computer restarts thinks about it then spits the disk out! Is there something I'm not doing correctly or is upgrading from tiger to snow Leopard without buying the box set just a myth?
is it an Intel mac or G4/5?

SL won't work on Intel...but usually it gives an error message at the start, I think.

I had this with someone's machine. In the end I went via Leopard, I confess...
