I'd be surprised if they worked - notebook RAM is usually different to
desktop RAM in my experience.

I'd go to www.crucial.com/uk - they sell memory there - and type in
the details of your father's Mac. Then get it to search for the right
memory. You may be able to compare the photo of the memory there with
what you've got in your drawer. You may also be surprised how cheap
memory is to buy new (when it's not from Apple!).
