The intel iMacs all use notebook style SODIMMs, so they are physically the same 
size. The key difference will probably be the DDR3 speeds. The iMac (if it's 4 
years old) will probably use DDR2 so won't be compatible.

Best thing you can do is check the RAM speed in System Profiler, or take the 
chips out of the iMac and compare the positioning of the notch on the bottom 
edge of the module. If they are an exact match then it's a long shot but it 
might just work.
