Now I am home (7 hours in pouring rain, mostly stationery grr) I am pursuing the traffic apps. Many thanks for suggestions. Gamin and TomTom both look possible and so does TrafficTV (which has very easily understood interface) but all of them are given bad ratings by users, so I am a bit undecided which one to go for.
