Hi Simon How long's it been since the upgrade? It takes a while for all the spotlight indexing to finish which really slows down any Mac.
Is there anything repeated in your Console? That may shed some light on apps that might be slowing your Mac down. Have you updated all your Apps to the latest version possible?
