I have been known to complain about the quality of Apple hardware and their service, on the SMUG list.
I am glad to be able to report something good, for a change. My 17" unibody MBP is currently receiving its 6th logic board (as well as having had a new disc and screen). It arrived 10 March last year, but has spent in the order of 3 months in Mac Hospital. It was a super spec MBP: fastest possible processor, fastest disc, non-reflective screen. Apple today agreed to replace this machine with a new model, including top speed processor and non-glare screen, fastest disc, and also allowing me to buy a RAM upgrade. The person I spoke to, and their manager, could not have been more helpful or more willing to accept responsibility and to act, always in a way that gave me a better deal rather than a worse one.
