Based on my 32GB iPod touch usage, of which half was my music, I reasoned therefore that 16GB for my iPad Classic should be plenty.
Wrong! What I found was that I use my 16GB iPad for things I'd never used my iPod touch for such as short films, TV programmes, Goodreader and keeping all those documents I previously didn't bother with, PDFs of my French lessons, iBooks of technical manuals and novels that were just too tedious to read on my iPod touch and of course games designed for the iPad only tend to be bigger, not that I have loads. I also noticed, for example, that GarageBand has just been updated to support iPad 3 (or whatever) and its size has gone from 500MB to 800MB, no doubt taken up by new features and all that retina display artwork that's now in there. There will be a lot more of this in the months ahead as iPad (and universal) apps have their artwork upgraded and increased in size for the retina display and so increasing the size of every app to some degree. Basically, if I'd known at the time what I know now I would have waited and saved for the 64GB model, or at least 32GB as16GB is a constant space juggling exercise for me. I opted for the 3G model as I have no mobile phone and the benefits of having internet and email access at the very least when out and about was a real bonus. I'm with Orange on the 5p/MB as much as you use tariff and last month's bill was 20p!! Normally it's about £3.50. My usage is never large but knowing I have it when I need it is great. Orange coverage seems good though their service is pretty poor. I hope that's of some help.
