By that do you mean the the PRAM reset was successful, i.e. you got the
apple bong noise two (or more) times before letting go of the keys but it
didnt fix the issue, or no luck as in it booted up again in the same state?

Crossing my fingers for you that its something simple like the
keyboard/mouse acting up because of batteries or a loose usb connection.
 Multiple PRAM resets aren't a bad thing
