Hello all, I have the iMac with Thunderbolt connector and an internal hard disk. My partner has a MacBook Air with internal SSD which goes from off to a loaded and working desktop in about 15 seconds or less and does loads of things blindingly quickly.
Is it possible to buy an SSD, mount it in some enclosure and then connect it via Thunderbolt to my iMac, make it a Startup Disk and then have my iMac go like a bat out of hell? Is this technically possible or desirable or is there another alternative which would achieve the same thing with my iMac? FYI: I now live in rural Essex so Sam is no longer around the corner to do some surgery on the internals and I don't trust myself with anything like that! :) Cheers for any advice.
