I've been trying to get more details but we keep missing each other... But she said she tried to import into FCP and it failed, and I think she has the most/a very recent one. Is the mpeg4 inside a package or similar that I can show her how to access from within the wrapper?
(and I'll look for any software on the panasonic site, thanks for the tip (doh...). To try out iMovie import, I think we would have to buy a cable (thus my original question about whether you *can* import via HDMI or AVI/digital out...I've only done FW.
