Hi everyone (i.e. the experts)

I followed the instructions here: http://www.filesaveas.com/jarviser/repeaterhubswired.html

In brief I have a master BT home hub (MBT) connected to the internet. That connects wirelessly to my Mac Pro (let's call this network MW). Via plugs-and-ethernet it connects to a slave BT home hub in the kitchen (long thin flat): let's call that SBT). SBT creates a wireless network that lets the iPad etc connect reliably in the kitchen. SBT is also connected to a G5 iMac whose wireless is slow.

If I connect the G5 via ethernet to SBT, it still gets ethernet but I can't see the iMac via the Network tab on the Mac Pro. Presumably this is a port forwarding issue? (though it's odd as I thought that only applied to the wireless network). I want to move large files (EyeTV) between the two and it's a snail's pace over the G5's old wireless card.

The stupid BT interface only seems to allow me use named apps in their pre-existing list and to one IP but they change dynamically etc. I gather I want port 548 open: is there a way to have it completely open via ethernet only?

cheers
