My elderly MacBook Pro has just died. When I press the power button it makes its characteristic initial start-up noise and the its LED indicator lights up, but there's no start-up chime and the display doesn't switch-on. It behaves in the same way whether the the power adaptor is plugged in or not. Any ideas?
do you have another drive you can use to try starting up from? eg a firewire one, a DVD...? and or an extermal monitor?
If it's badly dead you'd expect the chimes of death (or have they abandoned those?)
can you be more specific about which model it is? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
