Have you tried re-seating the RAM? Could also be the graphics card, which means
a new logic board, which means a new laptop (for something of that age!
I’m selling a 17” 2009 MacBook Pro with Hi-Res display, 8GB RAM with a 256GB
SSD and a 500GB SSHD replacing the DVD drive. Going for £800 if you’re (or
anyone else is) interested. It’s just had a brand new logic board put in (by
me) about 6 weeks ago, all tested and running well.
