It affects websites/servers and is not specific to operating systems on
home computers. Its not a virus/trojan.
If you use a secure service that protects itself (https) with OpenSSL
then there is potential for being vulnerable if they were on the
vulnerable release level. Not all sites were and not all sites use OpenSSL.
There are lists emerging of sites where its worth changing your password
ONCE the vulnerability has been patched by sites.
The major ones I've seen todate are Dropbox, GMail, Yahoo Mail,
Facebook. They've all been patched. If you have an account at any of
these its worth changing your password now. Good advice is always to not
use the same password in multiple sites. If you can't remember all the
passwords, get a copy of 1Password. They're currently giving a 50%
discount deal I think.
