My sister forgot her 4 digit passcode for her iPad, and is now locked out. She's plugged it in to her Macbook to fix it restore through iTunes. It offered an iOS update which she did before trying to restore, but now to confirm the update it's asking for the passcode, which she doesn't have! So, she can't update, nor instigate the factory restore.
