Hi John

Most sites these days wouldn’t support a version of Safari that old. You’ll
need to upgrade your Mac to the latest version of OS X which it’ll run (either
10.7, 10.11 or 10.12 depending on the model) for Safari to be up to date. Even
on 10.7 you’ll find Safari doesn’t work on many sites. You could also try
downloading Firefox but I believe it has a minimum requirement of 10.8 or 10.9
these days.

If you’re upgrading the OS you’ll want to install an SSD (if possible) into
your Mac. If you upgrade the software it’ll be much slower if you don’t upgrade
the hardware too.

Regards

Sam
