Sam,

That works just fine, (THANK YOU.)

However, when I click the phone in the Photos sidebar it shows the contents of
the phone but does NOT indicate which images are pictures and which are videos,
I was about to feed back that this did not work but I happened to notice that
one of the images on the screen was the first frame of one of the videos, I
selected it, hit import, and the video is now in the videos folder.
Beats me .

Steve.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the clarification.
However, I am unable to see anywhere on either my phone or wishing photos where
I could influence this behaviour
The phone gives me an option to upload my entire library to iCloud but I do not
want to do this as the library is too big and I don’t fancy the potential
cost. There is also an option to choose which video size to use, but that’s
about it.

In the Photo’s app on the Mac, I do not see any options either, and when I
connect the phone, the “On my device” only shows the photo stream not the
camera roll.

If i look in “videos” all the old vids are there but nothing since Feb this
year.

Beats me.

Steve.

The iTunes sync settings only covers syncing photos/videos from the Mac to the
iPhone, not importing from the Phone to the Mac. Importing’s all handled in the
Photos app.
